Due to inclement weather at Ranchi which ended up with sufficient rains to increase cold at the end, Dharna Demonstration programme was conducted from 3 to 3.45 PM only by Working Committee Members. It was followed up by presenting the Memorandum to Heads of Ranchi Units. The Committee Members visited Sri B.N. Thakur, the recently appointed ED, RDCIS, with whom the contents of the Memorandum was discussed in detail wherein Sri Thakur assured the Committee Members that all efforts will be made to resolve local Ranchi issues by discussion with the representatives of the Association. Special efforts will be made to have a periodical joint meeting with representatives of SAIL Units, the Association, the TPA and the Insurance company for proper implementation of SAIL Mediclaim Scheme.
This was followed up by about half an hour long meeting with Sri S.K. Saha and Sri R.K.Tripathi, both EDs, SAIL Safety Organisation on the issues raised in the Memorandum. They provided the visiting Team with some suggestions for improving the Retirees' lot. The EDs of CET and MTI were away from Ranchi. In their absence the copies of the Memorandum were handed over to the respective offices.
GM (P&A) RDCIS invited me through an e-mail message for a meeting to establish modus operandi of how to take up and resolve problems related to SAIL retirees of Ranchi Units. Following is the Record Note of the meeting.
As per our plan we demonstrated before Ipat Bhawan CMO hers today at 1pm with slogan shouting CMO hqrs It was participated by large number of retirees and our members from all units including lady members and very ageing members liki Sri Minor Joardar D Choudhari Ashoke Basu etc This is just for information Memorandum to management was also submitted to ED (pers) and other EDs of marketing Regards

SREWS HYD members held protest demo today at 11.00 AM at CMO BSO HYD after which they met BM I/C Sri Pankaj Tripathi DGM n handed over letter addressed to Chairman SAIL with a request to forward the same. On BM's enquiry, some salient demands were also explained to him by President Sri Desai n GS Sri Suryanarayana in depth.

GM (P&A) RDCIS invited me - for the first time by any official of SAIL Units of Ranchi - through an e-mail message for a meeting to establish modus operandi of how to take up and resolve problems related to SAIL retirees of Ranchi Units.
1. I attended the meeting in the afternoon of 10th January 2017 which was attended by Sri JC Mohapatra and Sri Manas Rath representing SAIL Units Ranchi. The discussion veered mostly around the major problems associated with SAIL Mediclaim Scheme, fixing the frequency of such joint meetings with TPA, Insurance Co. etc. The following was concluded.
I. Depending on number of cases with the TPA meeting can be held every month.
II. In case number is higher or remains unresolved the meeting can be called every fortnight in consultation with the SAIL Ex-Employees Association.
III. The aggrieved Mediclaim Members will be allowed to attend such meetings.
2. The following issues were also mentioned and left for separate but detailed discussion;
a. An office space in Shyamali colony for SAIL Ex-Employees Association. (To be discussed in the next meeting)
b. SAIL Retirees to get bookings of facilities for Social functions for their blood relative in the IEH or Community Hall etc at par with regular employees.(To be discussed in the bext meeting).
c. Involvement and participation of SAIL Retirees in official functions of SAIL/ Ranchi Units like SAIL Day, Republic and Independence Day etc.
d. Entry of DPS related vehicles to SAIL Satellite Township to be stopped. (Agreed but to be discussed in detail in the next meeting.
e. Imposition of Restrictions (as a condition of booking the Halls) to unbearable noise making Marriage processions and using loud speakers outside the Halls in SSTownship
f. Noise making equipment etc to stop by 9.00 PM.
