A homage to Late Bagaram Tulpule

Sri Bagaram Tulpule, a well known Trade Union leader from Hind Mazdoor Sabha was appointed the GM and Chief Executive of Durgapur Steel Plant in 1971 by the then Union Steel Minister Sri Mohan Kumarmangalam, and remained on the job of managing Durgapur Steel Plant upto 1975 at a very critical period of History of the country - rise and slowing down of Naxalism esp in West Bengal - died in Pune on 4th June 2015. This was a great experiment of assigning responsibility to those who were on the opposite side of the Management and prove one's worth. Sri Tulpule succeeded.

Sri Tulpule left his post of Durgapur Steel Plant because he found it increasingly difficult to adjust himself to the situation which had resulted in the Steel Authority of India (SAIL) gaining control over the steel industry. Contrary to the original concept of Mohan Kumaramangalam, SAIL had "centralized authority and functions to itself, though, oddly, remaining physically and hierarchically distant from the plants. Pl. read a review of his book 'Amidst Heat and Noise - Durgapur Recalled' by Bagaram Tulpule in

We, the members of FORSE mourn his death and pray for peace to the departed soul and courage to his family members to bear the loss.
