      Sub: Request to (1) enhance IPD coverage to at least Rs 6 lakhs each with clubbing facility and the OPD limit should be increased to Rs 25000 for each with clubbing facility, (2) to add some portion of unspent money on account of IPD to OPD coverage as cushion for OPD expenditure in SMSRE 2025-26.

The increase in IPD and OPD limits imminently was deliberated at length in the 15^th FORSE Apex Council meeting at Ranchi on April 09-10, 2025. The members seriously felt that there is imperative need for sharp increase in IPD limits which was fixed at Rs 4 lakhs for each 3 years back. OPD limits at Rs 4000/8000 for each were fixed long back and our demand for fixing at Rs 20000, for each has been pending for long. It was indicated that over last 3 years there had been phenomenal increase in all health care areas including hospital bed charges, OT charges, various procedures, medicine cost, Doctors charges, non-medical deductions and all diagnostics charges, which are estimated at ranging from 45%. to 55% in totality. Therefore, our demand should be for increasing IPD coverage to at least Rs 6 lakhs each with clubbing facility. The OPD limit should be increased to Rs25000 for each with clubbing facility. These are minimum limits which are justified to give some relief to the already oppressed members, the situation further aggravated by recent sharp increase in medicine prices all over even for regular medicines. It was also felt desirable that against unspent money on account of IPD some portion may be added as cushion for OPD expenditure in coming SMSRE 2025-26.

Sir, in view of the above, we request you to kindly enhance the OPD/ IPD limits and permit some portion of IPD to OPD as cushion
